Seventh Celebration

Over the past few days we Champs have been celebrating the guild’s seventh year of existence.  Each day for the entire week, a different traditional event takes place around, and I use the term loosely, 7:30 pm.

Monday Cake vs Pie

We had a slim turnout for the famous battle between the cake-lovers and the diehard pie fanatics.  Both sides fighting valiantly-ish for their cause. With each side equipped with a pair of healers and a tri-force of dps, both sides did their fair share of damage and killing blows.  Vent was filled with laughter, screams, taunts and what-have-you. In the end, it was a disappointing loss to Team Pie as Cake takes home the victory.  Until next year, eat your cake and have it to.  (Or whatever that saying is)

Tuesday Guild Parade

As a line of over 20 tabard-bearing champions file in behind Darnoff, onlookers can’t help but notice that soon they will be bombarded with yells of celebration as we take to the cobble walkways of Stormwind, naked.  Declaring to all about the monumental achievement that this guild has endured, it does nothing but stregthen the definition of a CotD member.  And what would that honor be without showing our affection for our leader in the form of Heavy Leather Balls and crates upon crates upon crates of cats.

Wednesday Old School Raids

[TBA]

Thursday Gnome Races

[TBA]

Friday Dungeon Race

[TBA]

Saturday Unknown

[TBA]

Happy Sixth Anniversary, Champs!

Champions of the Dawn celebrated our sixth anniversary on Eonar with a guild pride parade through Stormwind and guild trivia contest, after the other fun activities for the week run-up to today. Later, we wrapped up our first Twilight Ascendant Council kill, too, bringing Champs up to 9/12 and poked Cho’Gall in the eye with a sharp stick to remind him we were there.

It’s been a great six years so far, where to go from here? Why, for seven great years of course!

Champs Week 2011

From now until our birthday, there are going to be some exciting events that take place. Go on, look in your calendar. There is already some events that are posted, and I’m sure there will be more to come. Have an idea for an event? Whisper one of your friendly AGM’s or even the Boss herself.

Besides that, there are two other things to be tracking. It seems we are making huge progress towards our goal of Level 25. As proof, here is the latest screenshot of it.

And the other is pretty obvious if you are reading this post. You might notice an updated theme. More changes to come down the pipe as time goes on.

Like it, Love it? Let us know.

24 Approaches…

As we come to the closing of level 23 we reflect on our dedication to the progression of our Guild. With level 24 just around the corner, our drive is strengthened, our dedication is more focused, our commitment to each other is unified.

With all of us doing our part we are well on our way to hitting 25 in no time. Well that and our fearless leader hacking away at around 200 dailies…  a day.

Home Stretch

The race begins.
Our guild is now level 23. Which means that there is no more experience cap. If it hasn’t been drilled into your head by the Boss by now…

Quest – Guild 5-mans – Guild Raids

Do whatever you can to help Champions of the Dawn reach 25.

Champs Website Gets A Facelift

There is a new Champions of the Dawn theme that is currently in development.

Yes, yes, the rumors are true. The website will be getting a ‘face-lift’ to more accurately align us with our favorite game. We would give you a sneak peak, but we believe that in doing so we would destroy any wow factor there might be in the actual release. Instead, we ask for your input, thoughts and ideas about things that could be included.

That’s right. It’s not just a theme upgrade. We hope to possibly add and repair some of the tools that we once had in our Burning Crusade days.  But enough of that. We don’t want to give away too much.

So come one, come all. Post your ideas. Who knows, they just might show up.

Contribute back to the guild that has provided you with hours, days, weeks, months, heck even years of entertainment.

Magtheridon Toasted

The Champs continued moving forward through the Burning Crusade by taking down Magtheridon, the second 25-man boss after Gruul. Maggie, as he’s less-than-affectionately known, fell to the Champs on 4/7. Epic drops included the Thundering Greathelm and Eredar Wand of Obliteration, and Tier4 chest tokens to Crang, Crizzak and Skullgruve. Jetta won Magtheridon’s Head. Rumors that it’s still on the coffee table are completely false according to Jetta’s publicist.

Next on the agenda : Lurker Below in Serpentshrine Caverns. That fish has a date with a taxidermist!

Happy Third Birthday, Champions!

The Champs celebrated our third anniversary this past Saturday (April 18th). Celebrations included Cake vs. Pie Open PVP (Cake won of course) as well as our at-least-annual Naked Orgrimmar Celebration. (Since we’re an Alliance Guild and don’t bring weapons, you can’t call it a raid!). Our Orgrimmar events have gotten so well known that many Horde refuse to attack us and simply join in the dancing in the Auction House.
